Tryptonite, by James James (Original Work)
Lone Star, by James McLure (Established Work)
quiet presents two stories of the disenfranchised in our evening of one-act plays. In James James’ “Tryptonite,” drug-addled, alcoholic Christopher is living in LA, not having seen his family in years. In a desperate attempt to reconnect, Christopher’s sister, Angela, invites him back for Thanksgiving, the very anniversary of the family’s destruction. It is Christopher’s last chance to make his family accept him again.
In the comedy Lone Star, a Vietnam vet returns home to try and put his life back together. In a night of drinking and telling stories with his younger brother, he discovers that the world has moved on and nothing – even his prized 1959 Thunderbird – has remained the same.
