Matt

Matt Hornbeck – Executive Director

Contact: matt@quietonline.org
In the erratically spastic mind of Matt Hornbeck, he is a treasure seeking archaeologist or a tiger taming carnie, or even a WWE wrestler named “¡Un Poquito Diablo!” However, as acted out on the plains of reality, Matt is currently a part-time Sociology instructor at Seattle Central Community College, Argosy University, and Cascadia Community College. He previously held the position of an ordained pastor and worship leader at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Flagstaff, AZ. Currently, Matt and his better half Roxy, are on staff at Quest Church as Associate Worship Directors.

As part of Matt’s thesis in Applied Sociology, he wrote a two act play titled, Pick-Up Artist: The Musical. The intention of the musical is to use the format of the arts to address sociologically identified inequalities and problematic trends within societal patterns and thus encourage discourse and solution based discussion around such topics. Matt and Roxy hope to use this format as the foundation for the nonprofit arts community quiet, in which Matt functions as the Executive Director. Both Matt and Roxy will finish their MFA in Nonprofit Arts Leadership in June of 2011 from Seattle University.

Roxy is passionate about people, passionate about responsible art and passionate about equal access. Roxy believes that art is a mechanism for change in this world, so quiet is a place where she can truly follow all of her passions. Plus, she gets to work with her stellar husband, Matt. She couldn’t do all this stuff without his support and encouragement. She serves as quiet’s Managing Director, helping to create structures and sustainable practices that allow for ALL stories to be heard. In August of 2010, he decided that Seattle was where he really needed to be, so by the end of September he packed up his things and flew out to the Emerald City, where he met up with the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion… er… Matt, Roxy, and Josh. Noah

Noah Luce – Casting Director

Not so long ago, he came from the desert. He came from Las Vegas. “Viva Las Vegas!” they screamed all around him. But for Noah Luce, it just wasn’t to be. He didn’t vibe with the slot machines and all night party scene. He loathed the unforgiving heat of the concrete jungle. He longed for the green trees that reminded him of his West Coast upbringing. He yearned for a fresh scene and clean air to breath. Thats when he found Seattle in 2008.
Bitten by the “acting bug” at a young age, Noah attended theater arts high school, later worked in community theater, then studied acting in college. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Acting from Cornish College of the Arts. During his time there he appeared as Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing, Frank in Summertime, and Kenneth in Memory of Two Mondays. Some of his other roles include The Duke in Comedy of Errors (Wooden O), Puck in A Midsummer Nights Dream (Shakespeare on the Green), Henry in The Beard of Avon (SRJC), and Bobby in Cabaret (PCPA). Noah is excited to be working with such an amazing group of people.

Once upon a time in a land called Northern Arizona University, there was a simple, but beautiful, maiden named Sandra. She was working hard to get her Bachelors Degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Performance and a minor in Sociology. While there she met a wonderful Prince named Matt and his awesome Princess ,Roxy. Because of their love of theatre and working with people they quickly became friends. After NAU Sandra was banished to a hot, vapid desert named Phoenix; although she did get to act,and work on grand shows, she knew this was not the place for her. Fast forward a few years to a greener and wet land named OZ.. err…Seattle. There the maiden once again met up with Prince Matt and Princess Roxy, and they kindly offered her a place in their kingdom called quiet. There she met the feisty, and lovable Duke Josh; her own Fairy Godfather, named Kennan, who is helping her on her way as she learns new skills. She was also able to reunite with her dear friend and Court Jester, Geoff. She truly is enjoying all the wonderful new people of the land. Now, Sandra is happy and enjoying assisting the Kingdom prepare future up coming grand shows. She also interacting, creating dialog and letting people know all about the wonderful things quiet is doing through Facebook and Twitter.

Jeraud Craig – Creative Intern

Presently, I would consider my life to be pretty normal. There are a few bumps here and there, but for the most part, I think I’m in a pretty good place with the direction I wish to take in pursuing my dreams. My art in the form of writing, and hobbies such as photography and video, have been my motivation while currently going after a degree in English/Creative Writing.
Seattle, WA isn’t my home. At least in the terms of growing up and being raised in one area for the majority of your child life. But for the moment, I call it home. Guess you could say, if it wasn’t for Seattle, I wouldn’t have a home. I’m from Selma, Al. Born 1980. Aquarius. Served in the Marines for the 4 years after high school. Two weeks after graduating. I just wanted to leave from under my parents. Their voices and constant lecturing was always exhausting and aggravating. Good reason to go out on your own, I guess.
Feel in love, or you could say, I found something I was good at doing. Or at least, wanted to become better at doing – expression. writing. poetry. Music. I love music. It inspires everything I write. Everything I think about writing. Music in a way is like the stage to my dreamworld. Yes, I still dream. Why not? In my last quarter of attendance at Seattle Central Community College. Taking Spanish. That’s been kind of a frustrating challenge. I’m just glad I didn’t drop from the class. I don’t like finishing things. Doesn’t matter the overcome. It just gives me this ugly vibe about myself. I’m hoping for the opportunity to attend either Seattle University or Seattle Pacific University. The ultimate goal: English Degree Damn! I still have to write out my essays. I have writing those things. I always get caught up in the balance of being personal and formal. 31 years old. Still learning so many things – about myself, about the woman in my life, the people, both strangers and familiars. I almost lost the inspiration to write anything. I had to go back and confront some dark places. Wasn’t so bad. It got me back to writing. This is my Bio. This is Me.
